The participants are discussing the bookseller’s new limited-edition releases.
Libri is preparing a new series of events to celebrate the Year of Reading: on May 5, the book retailer will launch a book discussion with content creator Vivien Nagy (Fifty pairs of shoes). The first discussion will focus on Jeneva Rose’s crime novel Home Is Where the Bodies Are, a special edition published by Libri and Magnólia Kiadó, available exclusively at Libri. The next book will be Rebecca Ross’s internationally acclaimed duology, collector’s editions of which are already available for pre-order.
Two years ago, Libri launched its hugely successful online book club, the 20-minute book club, which attracts hundreds of thousands of people, and bookworms have been actively participating in the dialogue on social media ever since. From now on, they can meet in person, as the offline version of the book club is launching on the occasion of the Year of Reading, featuring the new Libri Special Edition bestsellers.
The first meeting will take place on May 5 at the Libri Bookstore in Etele Mall. The discussions will be led by Vivien Nagy (Fifty pairs of shoes), digital content creator and ambassador for the Year of Reading, who also immerses herself in new stories with great enthusiasm, reading late into the night and even devouring books while cooking.
The first book to be discussed will be Jeneva Rose’s recently published crime novel, Home is Where the Bodies Are. The limited boxed edition was published by Libri and Magnólia Publishing, and is only available at Libri in this format: the book itself is an object closely related to the plot of the crime novel, evoking the appearance of a blood-soaked VHS cassette, and even comes with cassette tapes – so the volume captivates readers interested in mysterious stories at first glance.
“I’m starting to feel pleasantly excited about the event, and I’m very curious to see how the participants will like the book and the discussion,” says Vivien Nagy, who has also been delving into the world of true crime podcasts to gain a deeper insight into the mindset of the author’s characters. “I definitely want to create a relaxed and entertaining atmosphere so that we can escape from our busy everyday lives and discuss the story together. For me, reading has a therapeutic effect: I can completely let go of my thoughts, switch off, and broaden my horizons through the stories. It feels like an exciting journey from the comfort of our favorite armchair.”

In the first offline discussion of the 20-minute book club, Vivien talks to Krisztián Kovács, communications director at Agave Books, publisher of countless exciting crime novels, and its imprint Magnólia Publishing, about the blood-curdling “buried truth.” In addition, they explore the reasons behind the popularity of the crime genre and talk about their experiences with it. The event will be interactive, as you’d expect from a book club, and Vivien will be asking for participants’ opinions and doing audience polls.
The 20-minute book club discussions are planned to take place every two months at Libri bookstores, and regular customers of the store chain will be able to participate in the event. Seats filled up in record time for the first event, so it’s worth jumping on the opportunity early, but the good news is that those who are unable to attend in person can follow the discussion on Libri’s Facebook channel.
Divine Rivals is Libri’s next limited edition release – now available for pre-order
Bookworms can already start preparing for the next event, as on May 26, Libri, in collaboration with Maxim Publishing, will release a special edition of Rebecca Ross’s duology, Divine Rivals and Ruthless Vows, a global BookTok success. Although the two books have already been published, collectors and new fans can now purchase them with alternative covers, edge painting, the author’s digital signature and an author’s letter. The two volumes will be available exclusively at Libri in this format, and can be pre-ordered in limited quantities starting April 30. Over the next 20 minutes, Vivien Nagy and her guest will discuss this story and the romantic fantasy genre.
