Although it may seem that today\u2019s adolescents crave completely different reading material than older generations, in reality they are drawn to the same timeless stories\u2014novels about first love, friendship, or the challenges of fitting in\u2014that their parents and grandparents loved.<\/strong><\/p><\/p>\n\n<p>Surprisingly often, today\u2019s teens pick up books: according to a 2023 British survey, young people in England and Ireland read nearly 25% more books than the previous year, and their choices are often influenced by book recommendations available on TikTok or other online platforms.<\/p>\n\n<p>While younger teens and preteens are fans of Judit Berg, Betti Koll\u00e1r, and Laura Leiner, older teens aged 17\u201318 tend to prefer genres such as romantasy, cozy crime, cozy mystery, and historical fantasy. The story follows Tak\u00e1cs, also known as T\u00fccs\u00f6k Rozi, who discovers not only new, unknown worlds but also learns to navigate the labyrinth of human relationships. The main message of <em data-start=\"2352\" data-end=\"2367\">Gyerekcsillag<\/em> is that deep down, we are all good\u2014and our \u201cbetter selves\u201d can emerge not only in fairy tales, dreams, and imagination but also in real life.<\/p><\/p>\n\n<p><p data-start=\"2513\" data-end=\"2839\">M\u00e1ria Szepes, who also authored the <em data-start=\"2549\" data-end=\"2564\">P\u00f6tty\u00f6s Panni<\/em> series, first published <em data-start=\"2589\" data-end=\"2604\">Gyerekcsillag<\/em> in 1976, and readers have waited ever since for a new edition.
