On July 31, Libri will open a new bookstore at Stop Shop in Keszthely. The opening day will feature discounts, a prize draw, and author events. Readers will have the opportunity to meet one of Hungary’s most popular historical romance writers, Anna Karády, as well as two leading authors of Balaton crime fiction, Judit Szlavicsek and Dániel Szántó.
The new bookstore will be located at Stop Shop (Murvás út 2, 8360 Keszthely). Covering 166 square metres, the store will offer around 4,500 different book titles and more than 21,500 volumes, making it easy for visitors to find the perfect holiday read for their time at Lake Balaton.
To celebrate the opening, the first 500 customers will receive a scratch card guaranteeing a prize. Lucky visitors can win reading lamps, notebooks made with seed paper, books, or discount coupons, ensuring that every scratch card holder leaves with a gift.
The selection will include popular contemporary and classic fiction, children’s and young adult books, non-fiction titles, and bestselling new releases. Featured books include David Szalay’s recently Booker Prize-winning Test; Túl a tűz és érc falán, the latest volume in Mór Bán’s bestselling series; Nelio Biedermann’s novel Lázár; and Millenniumi napló, the concluding volume of Fábián Janka’s diary novella series.
Visitors can also enjoy a variety of author events. From 3:00 p.m., Anna Karády, author of A füredi lány, will meet readers, while from 5:00 p.m., Judit Szlavicsek, author of Végzetes Kékszalag, and Dániel Szántó, author of A siófoki ragadozó, will introduce audiences to the world of Balaton crime fiction.
Located in one of the key tourism and cultural centres of the western Balaton region, the new bookstore will provide a convenient year-round shopping destination for local residents, nearby communities, and visitors alike. The opening day and its special events are well worth marking in the calendar.
